STUDIO 345

a young artists studio

After school arts enrichment at Urbana Elementary School for grades 3rd 4th & 5th

how it works:

Teachers will send Studio participants to the art room at regular dismissal time. They will have time to eat a light snack brought from home as they settle in. We begin class at 4 PM. At 5:15 PM, Art students will be walked to the front of the school for parent pick up. If your child is a part of the YMCA after school program, we will make sure that they get there.

more information:

Students will work on engaging, open ended projects that focus on creativity, skill building and craftsmanship. Using a wide variety of materials, and a TAB (teaching for artistic behavior) approach to learning, students will build necessary independence and knowledge of art materials and practices through instruction and experimentation.

About your teacher:

Amy Wood is an experienced Artist and Teacher with over 17 years of teaching experience. With a focus on 20th century practices and IB Art Education, her cross disciplinary approach to art making provides students the opportunity to incorporate their art practices into all areas of life and learning.

Students will work on engaging by projects that will focus on the foundations of art and design. With a focus on drawing and painting, we will improve our art-making skills and complete projects with care and attention in a fun and social environment.
